Freshman and Sophomore year taught basic techniques. Hopefully these have enabled you to play with others. This course aims to maximise your musical opportunities, by developing skills in a range of styles. At the end of Junior year, these skills will allow you to join with a wide variety of musicians.
Junior year introduces the blues scale and develops tongue blocking techniques for octave playing, adding greatly to your blues repertoire. Blow bending the top notes is introduced, which leads to first position blues. You will learn vibrato and other techniques to create your own sound.
This year also develops a repertoire of traditional bluegrass tunes. These are challenging, and not many harmonica players master them. Learning them will provide a rare skill.
