Since 2008 I have been a judge at the Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival. With around 2000 contestants, it is the world's largest harmonica competition. A key feature is the harmonica groups, trios, quartets and up to full size orchestras. The standard is extremely high. Inspired by this, I formed my own group in Australia, the Tony Eyers Trio.
I cannot match the virtuosity of the Asian groups. Nonetheless, I maintain that my trio has the most closely matched players in world.
